1. Watch the spectrum
The live QO-100 wideband spectrum comes from BATC Goonhilly. Move the mouse over it to see frequency.
2. Select a signal
- Click near the centre of a signal on the spectrum.
- Frequency is set automatically.
- Symbol rate is estimated from the signal width (you can change it in the dropdown).
3. Tune a WinterHill RX
- Select RX1–4, then click Tune (or Beacon). Picture shows. Audio (only available on RX 1).
- Only one person can control the receiver at a time (max 2 minutes).
- If it says Busy, wait or ask the other operator to release control.
4. Markers on the spectrum
- Red line — frequency the WinterHill is tuned to (also shown when others tune).
- Orange dashed line — your click selection before you press Tune.
5. Auto-scan
Spectrum clicks tune the selected WinterHill RX. Use each card’s Tune / Beacon buttons for independent control.
6. WinterHill (4 channels)
- Each RX has its own frequency and symbol rate — tune them independently.
- Click RX 1–4 to select which receiver spectrum clicks will control.
- Or edit freq/SR on a card and press Tune RX n — only that receiver changes.
Tips
- Click the middle of a carrier for the best symbol-rate estimate.
- Use Release control when you are finished so others can tune.
